A referral from your General Practitioner or Specialist is required to see Dr Kantar. Please obtain this prior to your initial appointment.
Payments can be made by credit card, EFTPOS, or cash (exact change required, as we do not keep cash on premises). Full payment is required on the day of your consultation and you Medicare claim will be processed immediately. There is no payment required by you for DVA, TAC, or WorkCover patients.
Dr Karim Kantar charges a Gap for all surgical procedures, with the gap depending on your health fund, the complexity and duration of the operation.
Self-funded patients will receive a full quotation before surgery, and financial informed consent is obtained for all procedures.
Yes, Dr Kantar happy to see self-funded patients, and will refer you to one of his affiliated public hospitals if surgery is required.
Please note however that the public & private aspects of our practice are independent entities and that a referral to the public service from Dr Kantar has to undergo the triaging process applied to the all patients. We do not have any influence over public hospitals scheduling process.

A consultation with Dr Kantar does not mean that surgery will be recommended, and in most cases it will not be required.
Dr Kantar will work with you to ensure you understand your condition and the options available to you. We will then tailor a treatment plan to best suit your needs.
Yes, we are happy to provide phone consultations for patients if appropriate so long as it does not interfere with our rigorous evaluation process or our ability to deliver appropriate care. Please notify one of our staff members if this is your preference.
